Greetings .
This year this summer we have a unique opportunity to paint at the new
Cape May Point Science Center formally known as St. Mary’s by the Sea.
Here’s a chance to paint at one of the most historic locations in South Jersey.

Phil Courtney is a graduate of The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Phila, PA. Following his education, he was employed as a billboard artist for outdoor advertisers in the Philadelphia area for more than twenty-five years. Phil began showing his own work after moving to Cape May, NJ in 1995 with his wife and children. His work has been shown locally at the former Washington Street Gallery, the SOMA NewArt Gallery, the FAN Gallery in Phila., The Ferry Gallery at the former Ferry Park. His work is also part of several private collections in South Jersey.
Joseph Sweeney is a professional landscape painter living in Ardmore, PA. He received a BFA in Painting and Drawing from the Philadelphia College of Art (now the University of the Arts) and an MFA from Penn State University. He has taught for many years at area institutions and art centers including PAFA, the University of the Arts, Wayne Art Center, Woodmere Art Museum and Chester Springs Yellow Springs Studio. His work has received numerous awards and is included in many public and private institutions, collections and museums.

Aqueous Media Pastel & Oil Painting
Twelve (12) session course!
Working from still life set-ups, learn the various techniques of aqueous media used for creating light, structure, texture, transparency and opacity. While the focus of the class is water-based acrylics, students are welcome to work in pastels or oil if they prefer. Instructor demonstrations and group discussion, as well as individual attention, provided during each class session.
This is a twelve (12) session course
